Pregnancy Body Changes
“Your body is meant to change. It’s not a photograph or an ornament. Your body is dynamic, warm & alive. Your heart beats, your lungs breathe. Your body is constantly responding and shifting to your internal and external worlds. Change is a sign of life.”
Isn’t it interesting that we’re all obsessed with trying to keep our body in the exact same form it was when we liked it most?
Before our wedding
During high school
Pre-baby
Whatever
But in all other aspects of life, we understand change to be good and necessary. We strive for change in other areas, but want sameness in our bodies.
As I start gaining weight, hips, stretch marks & a belly I’m honestly loving the change. I have never felt so free to eat what I actually want, to wear something tight on my stomach, to not panic when the scale gets higher.
And I know this is just pregnancy and that I’ll likely sing a different tune postpartum, but I also know I want to actively work to hold on to some of these feelings later on.
Because life feels good when you embrace the change!
