How To Become a Morning Workout Person

How I’m going to become a morning workout person.⁣

Because let’s be honest, the last thing we are going to want to do when it gets dark before your last meeting of the day even ends is force a workout. Knocking it out in the morning has SO many benefits, but getting up and at it is easier said than done (for me, included)!⁣

Here’s my game plan to become a morning workout person this winter:⁣

1.Plan to phase my wake up times. I’m not going to immediately be able to wake up an hour earlier. I’ll start with 15 minute increments to build up my “tolerance” ⁣

2. Plan for a realistic workout length. Account for your changing time, shower time, set up time, etc. I love @obe_fitness for their 28 minute options. ⁣

3. Use an annoying alarm. Whether you put your alarm away from your bed so you have to get up or use one like My Math Clock that makes you solve problems to turn it off, the key is discomfort.⁣

4. No in-bed scrolling. I’m sooo bad about this but know that it’s the main reason I’m slow to rise. Even if I’m physically awake, I’ll often waste 20 minutes on my phone when I could be sweating downstairs.⁣

5. Remember you will NEVER wake up feeling 100% well rested. So don’t talk yourself out of getting up by saying you’re still tired or you didn’t sleep enough. You’re just not fully awake! ⁣

Practice makes perfect and I know this is one of the habits I have been trying to form for a long time. It feels appropriate for all of us to try and tackle it together, right? ⁣
